Mekton Z:

Post by Knight »

Congratulations, [PRISONER NUMBER]

Despite having committed [INSERT LIST OF CRIMES HERE], your number has come up in the Redeemer Lottery. In accordance with the Second Life for Prisoners Act of 2433, you have been given the opportunity to work off your crimes by serving the United Nations in their Armored Core Criminal Combat Division (commonly shortened as AC3D). You will now be able to explore the galaxy and give something back to the society you have stolen from. If you manage to complete all your designated missions, then you can return to pick up any personal objects within the Panopticon before going back home.

Incase of your untimely death, it is important to update your Personal Information Record to make sure your next of kin is properly listed. Depending on your service, your Next-of-Kin may see a monetary gift through a special life insurance policy.

Once you have met up with your handler, you will be given your Armored Core and further instructions.
Personal Information Record
[Insert Mugshot Here]
Name:
Codename:

Race:
Age:
Height:
Weight:
Next-of-Kin:

Crimes:

Additional Information:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

After that message hit your terminal, you quickly are escorted outside of the massive prison. Perhaps you've been here for many years, but maybe only for a short while. It's utterly miserable aside from any friends you could make on the inside. The beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are small, you're on constant watch by Security Androids who will shove you to the ground for any perceived infractions. Maybe you really did commit the crimes in your record, but maybe it was all a set-up. Individual planets have all sorts of rules and corrupt politicians or royals that are just looking for a reason to throw someone behind bars for the smallest perceived slight.

ISS Secunda Opportunitas picks you up. A brief introduction highlights the situation for you: it's another type of prison, but one you might have a bit of freedom in. There's a "Rights Restoration" system for completing missions and killing the enemy. It involves just about anything you can think about: customizing your barren room, getting a personal TV or computer, wearing clothing that isn't this "Sinner" garb, and even putting custom decals on your AC.

Your Handler (Watson) instructs you on all of this.
You'll be staying in your designated areas onboard the space ship. Only during designated times are you allowed to go anywhere else.
You will listen to all instructions that your Handler gives you while on mission.
Training will take place from 0900 to 1400. A lunchbreak will be given in-between. Optional training will take place from 1800 to 2000, allowing you to better hone your skills. When you're not training, you are free to do as you please in the designated areas.
While deployed planet side, your Handler will tell you how far you can move from your base and when you are allowed to travel outside it on recreation.
1 Enemy Destroyed equals 1 Credit. Depending on the mission, the reward for completing them can range from 10 to 30 Credits.
Failure to abide by the rules and listen to your Handler can result in the removal of rights, isolation, flogging, and in the most extreme circumstances executions.

Races:

Human - Baseliners.

Human Generation 2 - Through genetic manipulation and installed bio-cybernetics has crafted the "Gen 2 Humans". However, most of them are considered failures due to unwanted mutations making them unfit for combat and may other tasks. Those that do survive typically have some sort of mental disorder. One of their stats can reach a maximum value of 12 (Reflexes being the most common due to a need of Super soldiers). They Luck is capped at 5 and typical mental disorders are Paranoia, DID, Sociopathy, Psychopathy, and Schizophrenia.

Fellpoll - They appear to be humans with feline ears in place of Human ones along with a tail. They are naturally agile, giving them a maximum of 12 for their Reflexes, but can only have a maximum of 8 within BODY and are weak to catnip. Many people enjoy their cat features and they are highly requested as models.

Wulfin - In opposition to the cat-like Fellpool is the Wulfin. They possess dog or wolf ears and tails. However, due to the origin they can be less intelligent compared to other races. On the bright side, their massive bodies allow them to make up for it. Their BODY can reach 12, but Intelligence can only be 8 while Tech can only be 9. There are many stereotypes that paint the Wulfin as dumb brutes, which is only true to some extent, but the Fellpool seem to be their rivals on this.

Android - There are two versions of Androids. The "Golem" versions exist only to serve a single purpose and don't make good PCs thanks to their AI being limited. Their Intelligence is replaced by "AI" and is limited at 4, but their BODY and REF can reach 11 along with having 4 natural armor. The "Life Service" models have no limit on their AI stat. They are commonly crafted to serve one purpose meaning they suffer in another. One stat can be raised to 12, but another has a maximum of 8. One skill pool gains a +2, but another gains a -2. Both versions are immune to environmental hazards such as heat, cold, space, and radiation.

Explanations
Money Exchange
Considering your status as prisoners, you should be lucky to be earning any money. You get free meals and board, so it's not like you have a need for it. This money can be used on anything that isn't considered contraband or you have earned the right to.

Request Special Meal
1 meal at Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner can be made to your liking. If an ingredient is too rare, it may be substituted for something else. Unless you have the Liquor Consumption During Free Time Right, alcohol cannot be requested.

Request Six-Pack of Energy Drinks or Soda
A single six-pack of an energy drink or soda of your choice. Pick it up from the mess hall or you can keep it within your room.

Request One Beer or Glass of Wine
On the weekends or during dinner time, a single glass of wine or a can of beer can be requested. It is forbidden to keep liquor of any kind within your room unless you have already bought the Right to.

Loosen Uniform Regulation
You may make small changes to your uniform such as exchanging certain articles of clothing with something else or altering the color.

Personal N-Phone
A N(etwork) Phone is given to you. Network phones can make calls to anywhere within the planetary system and receive text messages (a tad delayed) from anywhere within the Galaxy as long as appropriate long-range scanners are nearby. Calls may be monitored.

Personal Television
A TV is installed in your room, allowing you to view a variety of channels.

Personal Gaming System
A gaming system (PSX, X-Station, or N-Sphere) is placed within your room along with 2 games. Additional games must be purchased. Useless without a TV.

Outfit Request
Specially request a type of outfit or have a random one given to you. If a holiday is nearby, the random outfit will be one most appropriate for said holiday. Unless the right to not wear a uniform has been made, the sinner may only wear this outfit during appropriate hours.

Sinner Uniform Upgrade
The Sinner's uniform is changed from the somewhat prisoner garb to something more resembling a suit. Reference: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/limbu ... 0228041151

Minor Room Customization
Unlock the ability to perform light personalization of your room. This lets you place things like posters and figurines without worry.

Personal Mini-Fridge
A mini-fridge is installed within your room. Although it is only half the size of a fridge, it does offer a small freezer on top.

Holodeck Authorization (2 Hours)
For 2 hours during your free time, you may utilize the Holodeck as you see fit. Inappropriate use of the Holodeck may see your Rights revoked.

Furniture Request
Request a piece of furniture to be installed within your room. This includes beds, couches, desks, and tables.

Personal Computer
This allows you to have a computer or laptop within your room. This computer comes with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, but you'll probably want a desk first. A gaming computer may cost more depending on how your handler is feeling.

12-Pack of Beer or Bottle of Spirits
You are now authorized to have a 12-pack of beer or 1 bottle of spirits in your room and are provided with one of your choice.

Personal Nuker
A head-sized device that can quickly heat up meals and drinks. Combine it with a mini-fridge, so that you never have to leave your room aside from training.

Holodeck Authorization (4 Hours)
For 4 hours during your free time, you may utilize the Holodeck as you see fit. Inappropriate use of the Holodeck may see your Rights revoked.

Appearance Modification
If you ever grow tired of your appearance, professional bodysculpters can change your face, body, and even modify your hair to your liking. Your ID will be updated right afterwards to account for the changes.

Major Room Customization
If you ever grow tired of your white-floored, grey-walled floors of your cell this Right lets you change it all up. The steel-tiled floors can be replaced with carpet or wood of your choice and the walls can be changed to have wallpaper, simply to a different color, or be replaced with digital screens to display whatever you may want.

Remove Uniform Regulation
You are free to wear whatever type of clothing you want.

Mono-Weapon Authorization
You can utilize mono-edged weapons while training or on mission.

Liquor Consumption
During free time (after dinner, on the weekends, or holidays), you are able to consume as much alcohol as you wish. Unlocks the "12-Pack of Beer or 1 Bottle of Spirits" Right. This also allows you to keep alcohol within your room, but drinking on unauthorized times will be punished.

Accessory Customization
Rename your Accessory or fully customize their appearance to your liking.

AC Appearance Customization
Unlocks the ability to place decals or change the paint scheme of your Armored Core. Making yourself a brightly colored target is not advised.

Unsupervised 24-Hour Leave
Be given the permission to leave the ISS for 24 hours without being watched by your accessory.

No Mandatory Training

The area on-board the Space Station for Sinners has the following areas:

Panopticon Dorms
A large, round room with typically 2-3 floors. Heavily reinforced doors on dorm rooms ensure that even the strongest person cannot readily escape. A control tower hangs in the center of the Panopticon where security personnel keep an eye out on the Sinners. Accessories watch the ground level to ensure the Sinners aren't getting up to any trouble. Typically their numbers are: 2 security guard for every 10 sinners, 5 accessories for every 10 sinners. The worst place to start a fight as you can be quickly put down by any number of guards, accessories, or sinners who may want to earn some extra credits. There's some vending machines for those with extra money or credits to spend.

Naturally, the Sinner Rooms are inside this Panopticon. To the east is a hallway that leads to the dorms and common rooms. To the west leads to the classrooms, holodecks, requisition rooms, and then the hanger.

Sinner Room
On this space station, the Sinner has been given a bit more privacy with a tiny bathroom. These 2.6m by 3.1m rooms come with a twins XL bed (two drawers under it) with a flat pillow and thin blanket. The walls, aside from one, are a scratched up gray and the floor is a bland white. The wall on the other side of the bed has a giant screen installed on it to offer sanctioned news, a carefully monitored messaging network between Handlers, staff, and Sinners; and information about upcoming missions along with Armored Core loadout.

Common Rooms
An assortment of rooms with couches, chairs, and a few TVs. Most Sinners come here during their free time. A few tables along with some gifts left by older Sinners or the caring Handler ensures a few boardgames can also be played. Sometimes, the rare video game console will be brought out for everyone to enjoy. Connected to the common rooms are laundry rooms.

Mess Hall
A large bar houses a variety subpar food fit only for those who have nothing else to eat. Most consider breakfast to be the best. On the weekends, slightly better food is provided. Drink dispensers have water, milk, and a variety of juices. Only Sinners who have volunteered for cooking duty are allowed into the kitchen itself.

Classrooms
A series of rooms that have long desks with chairs behind them. At the front of the classroom is a screen and a desk intended for the teacher. There exists VR goggles connected to the desk for better training, allowing someone to quickly see how it feels to pilot an AC, make preventive maintenance repairs, and recognize any warning signs within the cockpit. Sometimes wargames also take place. Sinners and staff like to place bets on who wins. Credits are given to the winners of the wargames.

Holodecks
There's a front desk that you first go to in order to request time within one of the four holodecks. During training hours, they're commonly used as a shooting range or sparring arena. Aside from that, they can be used to simulate an almost infinite amount of environments. Bask in the sun with your feet in the water at the beach, enjoy a starry night on the side of the moon, or be fed by buxom maids while reclining in a mansion's reading room. Holodecks use advanced HI, holograms, and matter replication to make the most realistic experience one can imagine. Just make sure not to stay past your allocated time and not to disable the safety features.

Requisition Office
A small office with a few chairs before a gated desk. On the other side is always staff, who process every and all requests to include Rights restoration. Once the request is complete, the requestor will be called down to retrieve it. If the item is small, it will be deposited in a drawer one can open to retrieve it. For larger items, an Accessory or two will bring it out from the back.

Hanger
The most important location within the area. Not only does this area contain the Armored Cores, but also the armory thanks to safety concerns brought up if they were any closer to the Sinner dorms. From the smallest ACs to the largest, most of them only belonging to Sinners. A few Handlers do make use of their own AC. Accessories patrol the area to ensure there is no unauthorized modification to the ACs. Rumor says that each AC has a bomb implanted into its cockpit in the unlikely event that someone tries to turn. Naturally, all weapons are disabled within the hanger. They don't turn on until a Handler authorizes it.
