Shui's Homemade Simple System 2

Post by Shui »

(WIP)

This one is based off of Sword World's stat grid, Dark Souls TRPG position system, and Song of Sword's Combat Pool.

Some arbitrary number is used (probably a d4) for the following four values: Body, Mind, Strength, and Speed. And then I guess you can add 1 to one of those four.
And then you cross 'em on a grid.
StrengthSpeed
BodyBody+StrengthBody+Speed
MindMind+StrengthMind+Speed
Your Adrenaline Pool (AP) will be comprised of d10s and is calculated by adding Body+Speed and Mind+Speed (in short, Body+Mind+Speed*2).
Your Willpower (WP) is determined by adding Body+Strength and Mind+Strength (so, Body+Mind+Strength*2). If this reaches 0, you lose whatever you were fighting with and are at the mercy of whatever it is.

Your AP is solely used for attacking and defending. Like Song of Swords' combat pool, it refreshes to its maximum after every two exchanges. The player will expend however much of their AP for an exchange and roll that many d10s. Numbers at or above 7 signify a rolled success. Succeed more than the opponent and you get to damage them, probably.

WP, on the other hand, is a measure of your health and willingness to fight. It can also be used for altering your attack in some way. E.g., you can spend WP before attacking in order to ensure a hit, deal extra damage, buff yourself, perform weapon arts or spellcasting.

Skill Checks
Body Strength: Mainly for feats of strength, enduring, or athletics.
Body Speed: Reflexes, acrobatics, accuracy and dodging, initiative and movement.
Mind Strength: Intelligence, your ability to retain knowledge, and to recall lore.
Mind Speed: Thinking speed, instinctive reaction, as well as stealth and other dexterity-related things.
